Joining UPC
For those interested in joining UPC, contact Pastor Tedd Lyons. Prior to membership, you are expected to participate in new member classes.
We have been working on three 1 hour class sessions that will be held on Sunday during the Sunday School Hour (9:45-10:45am). These three sessions will be lead by Elders, and will engage 3 primary areas that are important in our faith development: What is the Gospel?, How Do We Grow Spiritually into Discipleship?, and Why Be Presbyterian? We also want you to know some other important things.
The Classes will be held monthly, as needed. If you miss a class this month, you will most likely be able to attend next month. The Classes do not need to be taken in any particular order. They are open to all, so those who have been part of UPC for a very long time will be able to interact with folks who are new to UPC.
After the classes have been completed, you may want to pursue church membership, but that is not the only possible outcome. Pastor Chris and/or Tedd will be available to interact with you one on one, and to help you sort out where your next steps in discipleship may be. Our goal is to clarify for you who we understand God is calling UPC to be, and for you to be able to clarify if our vision and practice of Christian faith is where you continue to be called.
In February the Classes will be held February 13, 20 and 27. Please listen and watch for announcement of future classes in March, April, and beyond in Connections, the church New Letter, and the Website. And feel free to share this information with anyone else you choose. We encourage you to attend.
