Adult Education is our weekly forum for ongoing learning and spiritual growth where we dive more deeply into important topics and ideas related to Christian faith and life. Past topics have ranged from Bible studies to spiritual disciplines to current political events and issues. Attending a class is a wonderful way to get to know who we are and what’s important to us. Adult Education takes place on Sunday mornings from 10:15-10:55 in Majesty Theater.
Transformation happens in community and the life of faith is not meant to be lived alone. We have a number of weekly Small Group opportunities throughout the year that meet in homes and on our campus for you to choose from, either to check out once or commit to regularly. These groups are typically our way to explore our sermon series topics more in depth while simultaneously building and strengthening relationships. For more information about our current Small Group offerings, please follow this link to our weekly bulletin.
The Clippers at UPC is a social and outreach group that is composed of people who are 50 years or older. While most Clippers are members of the church, some are not, and it is not a requirement to be a church member. They gather together each month for devotion, fellowship, and fun, either at the church or in the community. They frequently use the UPC Majesty Theatre to screen a favorite film and have dessert. Their events are lively and everyone to invited to join in at any event, no matter what age.
Presbyterian Women, under the auspices of PC(USA), knows that scripture asks them to be the hands and feet of Christ in the world. As such, Presbyterian Women thrives to nurture, support missions, work for justice and peace, and build community. They meet on the second Tuesday of the month from September through June. In November, their annual Holiday Boutique offers member crafts, bake goods, and plants for sale. The proceeds are given to various mission organizations in Fresno.
Life can be busy, full of distractions, and, at times, overwhelming. That’s why part of our annual rhythm is to take a weekend retreat -- in the Fall for women and the Spring for men -- in which we go up to the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountains in order to create a margin of space where we can be refreshed and connect with God and one another in new and deeper ways. From Friday evening to Sunday afternoon, we spend time sharing meals, learning and worshipping together, and taking a lot of time to simply be with one another. Attending a Men’s or Women’s Retreat is a wonderful way to get to know new people and be more deeply connected into the life of the University Presbyterian Church family. Contact the church office at email@example.com to find out more about upcoming retreat.
We host monthly gatherings for children, youth, and families to share a meal, get to know each other, and have fun together.
