Education
Begins September 27
Only 38% of students in the Central Valley are reading proficiently by the end of third grade, which is correlated to higher rates of unemployment, poverty and incarceration later in life. Literacy is not a stand-alone issue. Race, income level, and parental education all play a role. But there are effective ways to support our most vulnerable children and break this cycle of poverty.
Andrew Feil, the Executive Director of Every Neighborhood Partnership shares the lifelong impact of literacy and the unique challenges distance learning is posing. In this discussion we discover how they are working together to connect churches and other community partners with elementary schools, and equip them to serve through their active presence in every neighborhood.
Visit Every Neighborhood Partnership online at everyneighborhood.org to learn more about their work to engage our city, support schools, and enable children and families to excel so our communities thrive.
